Sales Training Officer | M-KOPA South Africa (Pretoria)
Empower sales teams. Enable financial inclusion. Shape Africa’s digital future.
Why This Timing Matters
M-KOPA is scaling fast. We’ve grown from 5 million to 7 million customers in just over a year, unlocking $2+ billion in credit, assembling 2 million smartphones in Kenya, and financing 4,000+ e-motorbikes that save riders $5.62 daily. We’re building the infrastructure to reach 10 million customers, and our sales force is at the heart of that mission.
We’re looking for a Sales Training Officer who can transform sales capability across our retail and field teams—someone who understands that training isn’t just about skills; it’s about confidence, performance, and impact.
What Makes This Role Different
This isn’t a classroom job. It’s a frontline leadership role where you’ll design and deliver training that drives measurable results. You’ll work across multiple sites, engage diverse teams, and ensure every sales agent and cluster leader is equipped to succeed in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Your work will directly influence how thousands of customers access smartphones and financial services—many for the first time.
Your Impact

Conduct engaging training sessions for new and existing sales agents and cluster leaders across multiple locations.
Deliver product knowledge and advanced sales techniques that boost performance.
-
Use interactive methods—role-playing, digital tools, and real-world scenarios—to make learning stick.
Training Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and assessments.
Track and report on training effectiveness and performance improvements.
-
Prepare training materials, manuals, and presentations aligned with M-KOPA standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Sales Administrators and Regional Sales Managers to identify training needs.
Align programmes with company sales objectives and strategies.
-
Provide feedback to management on gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Continuous Improvement
Support development and implementation of new training initiatives.
Monitor industry trends and best practices to keep our sales training cutting-edge.
Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and performance excellence.
Must-Have Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Sales, Business Administration, Training & Development, or related field.
Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in sales training, sales support, or a related role.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills with proven ability to engage diverse audiences.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to travel across training sites within Pretoria and surrounding areas.
Experience in a fast-paced sales environment is advantageous.
The Reality Check
This role is dynamic and field-based. You’ll be on the move, delivering training in multiple locations, managing schedules, and adapting to different team needs. But you’re probably ready for exactly this. You thrive on variety, impact, and seeing your work translate into real performance gains.
